55 Tribal Welfare Educational Institutions functioning in the District. In all these institutions there are 13681 boarders from 3rd to 10th class during the year 2016-17. There are 349 GPE Schools (TW) are functioning with 399 teachers, in all these schools 4248 students are studying from Class 1 to 5.
There are 11 AP Tribal Welfare Residential Schools / Colleges are functioning. Out of which 5778 students are studying during the year 2016-17.
In order to provide hostel facility to the Post Metric ST students 16 Hostels are opened. In these hostels 3821 students are admitted during 2016-17.
During the year 2016-17, 532 Best Available School Scheme seats are filled through counseling. An amount of Rs.160.80Lakhs has been released under this Scheme. Out of which an amount of Rs.160.38Lakhs has been released to the 532 fresh and renewal students.
During 2016-17 academic year 18 ST students were admitted in to Corporate Colleges.
320 CRTs were engaged on contract bases in TW educational institutions in the existing vacancies during 2016-17.
During 2016-17 note books were supplied to all TW educational institutionsthrough ATWOs concerned and also 4 pairs of dresses has supplied to each student for the year 2016-17 from class 3rd to 10th . Woolen Rugs has to supplied 13681 students.
INTER CASTE MARRIAGES INCENTIVE AWARDS : An amount of Rs.7.25Lakhs has released by the Director of Tribal Welfare, AP, Hyderabad. Out of which 16 couples have benefited through his scheme.
Post Metric Scholarships : During 2016-17 Financial Year an amount of Rs.608.00Lakhs has been released under MTF and RTF. Out of which an amount of Rs.608.00Lakhs has been incurred to 4711 fresh and renewal students.
GIRIPUTRIKA KALYANA PATHAKAM : An amount of Rs.43.50Lakhs has been released by the DTW, AP, Hyderabad, the entire amount has been released to 87 eligible couples.
Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi : To provide Post Graduate studies in abroad introduced from 2013-14 onwards.
NTR Vidyonnathi Scheme : To provide free coaching for SC and ST candidates appearing for the UPSC Civil Services Examinations . As on date 21 students were selected from Vizianagaram District. Out of which 1 are taking coaching at Sri Ram IAS, New Delhi, 11 from RC Reddy Study Circle, Hyderabad and Dr. Lakshmayya IAS, Coaching , Hyderabad 8, Brain Tree, Hyderabad -1
NTR Vidya Jyothi Scheme: To increase students retention and to reduce the dropout rate and to give financial incentive to the poor tribal families whose children are studying 5th and 10th classes in all management schools in the district. In this purpose Rs.3.06Lakhs has been released to 241 students studying from 5th to 8th classes as Day Scholars.
